Frequently Asked Questions


Q: Can I be on the same committee for 2020?
A: Committees are filled on a first come, first serve basis but we always try to give volunteers their first preference when available. Marshals, lasers, and corporate hospitality volunteers may request a specific location on their application.

Q: Who is the title sponsor for the event?
A: Dell Technologies is the title sponsor.

Q: Where will the event take place?
A: The Dell Technologies Match Play will be held at Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas. This will be the fifth year at this location.

Q: Will I be able to watch the tournament while I'm not working?
A: Yes, your volunteer badge acts as a grounds ticket whenever you're not working. Your child (18 and under) may also accompany you for free on days you are not working.

Q: When is the Volunteer Party?
A: Dates and information for the volunteer party have not been finalized. The championship office will inform volunteers as soon as this information is available.

Q: When and where is uniform distribution?
A: Uniform Distribution dates and locations have not been finalized. The championship office will inform volunteers as soon as this information is available. 

Q: If I can’t pick up my uniform on those days where can I get it?
A: You may send a representative in your place to pick up your uniform. Please contact your committee chairman as a last resort if you are not able to send someone to pick up your uniform.

Q: When and where can I purchase additional merchandise?
A: Extra volunteer merchandise is available for purchase at Volunteer HQ during tournament week. (Monday, March 23 - Sunday, March 29)

Q: What do I wear with my uniform?
A: Men must wear khaki pants or shorts. Ladies can wear khaki capris, pants, or knee length shorts or skorts.

Q: What does the uniform look like?
A: The volunteer uniform consists of a Greg Norman polo, Greg Norman pullover, and either a ladies visor or a baseball cap provided by Ahead. Greg Norman uniforms typically run true to size.



Q: I sent in an application to be a volunteer, but now I can’t work due to an emergency, etc. Can I get a refund?

A: Yes you may receive a refund, but no refunds will be given after March 20 or after uniforms have been distributed. Please contact the tournament office at 512-949-5885 or wgcmatchplay@pgatourhq.com to request a refund.

Q: Is the volunteer fee only good for one year?
A: Yes, the volunteer fee is only good for this year. The fee helps us to offset our costs and donate more to charity in return.

Q: Will the Tournament be on TV?
A: Yes, the Championship will be on Golf Channel (Wednesday through Sunday) and NBC on Saturday and Sunday. Check your local listings for times.

Q: Where is Volunteer Parking?
A: Volunteer parking is at Camp Mabry. It is the same location as the 2019 volunteer parking lot. All volunteers will need their parking hangtag and a valid I.D. to enter the lot.

Q: Will volunteers be able to take guests to the volunteer party?
A: It will depend on the venue and capacity allowed. We will let everyone know at a later date if you are able to bring a guest to the Volunteer Party

Q: I am volunteering, will my child be able to come with me to the tournament?
A: Yes, one youth (18 and under) will be allowed admission per person with a Volunteer badge.

Q: Will Volunteers be able to take guests to the tournament?
A: No, due to capacity limitations at Austin Country Club, Volunteers will not be able to take any guests to the tournament, only one youth (18 and under).

Q: Will anyone have access to the Loop 360 Boat Ramp or its parking lot during tournament week?
A: The Loop 360 Boat Ramp will be closed March 23 – 29, 2020. No public access will be permitted off of the Loop 360 Frontage Road. There is no parking/staging at the ramp. The parking lot will be reserved for tournament activity only out of concern for public safety due to amount of foot traffic brought into the park for the tournament.
